Caroline Gauthier was born and raised in Quebec City, where she gratuated from the Conservatory of Music with a Premier Prix in clarinet and in chamber music. She moved to Vancouver in 1993 to further her studies with Wes Foster, former Principal Clarinet of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. She has been a member of the Vancouver Opera Orchestra since 1996 and also performs with the National Broadcast Orchestra. Caroline has also played occasionally with the Vancouver and Victoria Symphonies, the National Arts Centre Orchestra, and the Orchestre Symphonique de Quebec. Caroline was recently invited to perform with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra for a year during their 2009/10 - 2010/11 seasons.
