Member Biographies

 

Heidi Krutzen is Principal Harpist with both the Vancouver Opera Orchestra and the National Broadcast Orchestra, and has been guest principal harpist with numerous orchestras across Canada, including the Toronto Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic and Vancouver Symphony. She is a member of Trio Verlaine, the Krutzen/McGhee Duo, the Turning Point Ensemble, is on the faculty of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada and teaches at the University of British Columbia School of Music.

 

Heidi has appeared as soloist and chamber musician in premiere festivals across North America including the Seattle Chamber Music Festival, Oregon Bach Festival, Strings in the Mountains, CO, and Music in the Vineyards, CA. She has been fortunate to collaborate with many

distinguished artists including the Shanghai String Quartet, James Ehnes, members of the New York Philharmonic, and regularly tours with Duo partner, Lorna McGhee for NY’s Piatigorsky Foundation. Her performances and recordings are broadcast on CBC Radio and NPR in the US.
