Member Biographies

 

In addition to his role as Co-Artistic Director of the Turning Point Ensemble, Jeremy performs as Principal Trombonist for the Vancouver Opera Orchestra. A graduate of Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music with degrees in both Economics and music, Jeremy also earned a Masters Degree at the Juilliard School, and a post-graduate certificate at the Banff Centre for the Arts. Jeremy has recorded four critically acclaimed cds, has toured with cellist Peggy Lee's Octet, the Peggy Lee Band, and can be heard on soon-to-be-released recordings by Michael Buble, Viviane Houle, and Veda Hille. He is also a mainstay of the Jill Townsend, Fred Stride and Ian McDougall Big Bands.

 

Jeremy currently teaches at UBC. Upcoming performances include Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad appearances with Stefan Smulovitz’s Joan of Arc project and the salsa version of John Korsrud’s Hard Rubber Orchestra, Orchestra Goma Dura. Jeremy lives in Vancouver with his wife, Sheila McDonald, and son Augwin.
